Plastics Industry sponsors local Awareness Campaign

South African plastics industry sponsors eWASA, Petco, Plastics SA and Polyco,  have pledged their support to the Save a Fishie Coast 2 Coast 2024 Campaign’s education and awareness initiative. The campaign will be launched at the Eden on the Bay beach, Blouberg on Saturday 1 June at 10 am. From 1 June to 13 July 2024,  Zoë Prinsloo and the team at Save a Fishie NPC, will spend 6 weeks on an epic campaign to clean beaches all along the South African coastline.

The plastics industry recognises its responsibility to educate society, businesses, and government entities about the critical importance of effective waste management, recycling plastics, and preventing plastic pollution in the environment. As part of its comprehensive mandate, they actively engage in a variety of impactful activities aimed at fostering environmental education and sustainability and we are proud to be a part of this drive.

They will travel from Cape Town to Port Nolloth, crossing the country via the Hennops and Jukskei Rivers and then down the East Coast from Richard’s Bay back to Cape Town. They will focus on beaches identified during Coast 2 Coast 2023 that need extra attention. Schools and local organisations will be invited to get involved, fostering lasting relationships and raising awareness on a national scale.

Their journey will be shared on social media and on completion, they will share a YouTube series for an in-depth view of the project.
